I received a couple of cans of Nakula Coconut Water to review from their supplier, House of Organic.

I decided to try it out today and followed the instructions on the can which said to drink it chilled and over ice.

The can has a fresh and tropical look and the white and green give it a clean appearance. I really liked the look of the can and small can sizes (330mL) means the product stays fresh as there is just enough in each can for a single use.

The actual coconut water has a cloudy appearance and looks like foggy water. It could easily be mistaken for water when served over ice!

Nutritional Information

Nakula Coconut Water is certified organic and low in calories which makes it a relatively healthy alternative when compared to other soft drinks.

One can (1 serving) has 63 calories, contains no fat and only has 15g of (natural) sugars.

I had tried coconut water a few times before. In Sri Lanka coconut water is a popular drink on hot afternoons. There are many stalls along the side of the road which sell whole king coconuts which are cut open for the purchaser to enjoy.

I had also tried mango coconut water once before but I wasn’t a fan of it as it had a strange and unfamiliar taste which put me off a bit.

This organic coconut water has a crisp and light taste. At first I had to get used to the flavour as I hadn’t had it in a while and it isn’t the typical sweet drink that we’re all used to. However, half way through the glass I began to enjoy drinking it more and more. I think it is an acquired taste as it can taste a bit unusual at first if you are not used to it.

Overall the drink is tropical, light, and quite refreshing. Although it isn’t to everyones taste you may find that it is something that you begin to enjoy after a while. The main benefits are that it is low fat, organic and a good thirst quencher. I also think it would be great as a summer cocktail served over ice with Malibu and pineapple juice!

I give it a 6.5/10.

So readers, that is my review of Nakula Coconut Water. Keep checking back for a profile on the product and House of Organic and also a giveaway of 6 two-packs of Nakula Coconut Water for you to try for yourself!
